After purchase I signed up for assistance as I couldn't find some functions and help was good. About a year and a half after use and I liked it. The rubber button on the side became hard and broke away from the push turn on off control. I still love the unit and called to see if they would send me a new rubber that I could install. customer service informed me no I could not obtain a part and would have to send the unit in for repair and need to pay for the repair. How much was the question? $85.00 and I could buy a new one for little over hundred. I give them 1 star for product and -4 for service. I would buy again if the service was their. Additional Email resulted in no response. They don't have a phone so only way of contact was e mail or was I able to reach them with chat I can't remember. Good product awe full service.

I bought it 1 year ago. After got it, I hacked it and install other GPS softwares.(The factory gps software is good but a little out of date.) Total I installed IGO, Garmin and tomtom. I only keep igo and garmin. I use igo almost everyday. Like this very much.

The GPS navigator is very reliable and easy for use. I've bought the same model also to my parents. Except the GPS ability, the device is also a nice PNA and allows easily to install other windows-based applications and games. The lifetime of the battery is a little bit short, but most of the time it is plugged into car power adaptor. Maps update process is fast and easy. The device supply was fast and accurate (according to supplier commitment)

The product is my first GPS, so I am a bit biased. However, I have to mention couple things that are good and several that are bad. First of all, it is a nice unit, attaches well in the car, and one should not have much problem running it. However, the one I bought did not do what it was supposed to do. It would not power up. I had to be creative and give it jump start otherwise it would finished as a refurb. I had no time to hassle with postal and stuff so I did the tech job myself. When it finally made to be used in the car, it would make me crazy: it woudl announce the important changes to late. So I would miss the ramp and then had to listen about "route recalculation". Or it would simply ignore important details at the complicated junctions so it would skip the fact I had to reach another lane and make turn... The "route recalculation" is also poorly written algorithm as it would always take me some weird routes, even when it was attempted to be tweaked in the route options. Then also it would miss on the house numbers and I would end up at the wrong side of the street. All in all, I am happy to have some help in the car, but it is unreliable and I can use it mostly to locate current position on the map. When it comes to managing direction (that is what GPS are suppose to do) this unit is a poor choice. I am considering selling this one and buying another brand.

My wife received this for Christmas 2007. She has never figured out how to use it and I use it occasionally. It's probably only been used 10 times and I find it's not worth the hassle. I would prefer to look at a paper map. The battery only last about 2.5 hours. Even when I have it connected to my car charger, the battery runs out. The same thing happens in two cars so I think the issue is with the unit. I can't use this for trips more than 2.5 hours or else the thing will turn off due to low battery power and I can't turn it back on. The suction thingy that secures the unit to the car frequently fails and the unit crashes on the dashboard or floor. There's a USB cable/charger that plugs in through the mounting bracket. To remove the unit from the bracket you have to unplug it first. It's kind a pain when you're trying to figure out why there's a constant warning message that the battery is low when it's plugged in. Most of the time, the directions are correct but nowhere near optimal. Frequently, I've had it plot a course where I knew how to get there and the directions were very bad. It always chooses the path of shortest distance and doesn't take time into account. If you have a highway and a dirt road side by side and the dirt road is 0.1 miles less in distance, it will tell you to take the dirt road. The maps are old and can't be updated without an unsupported hack. They have updated maps for newer units, but not for their older units. I normally reserve 1 star for things that break or just don't work, but this thing is so annoyingly bad, even when working, that I have to give it 1 star. You can get a comparable Garmin or Tom Tom for about the same price. Why anyone would buy this at current prices is beyond me.
