Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 2

UE has been making some cool speakers for a while now, and are one of the top 3 Bluetooth speaker manufacturers in the market.

They are very good at making innovative products, and very often you will see their design choices and feature sets show up in other companies offerings after UE launches them and the market responds favorably.

The original Wonderboom was probably their most popular speaker, given its size and price point, and it just got a bunch of new excellent upgrades.

So without further delay, ladies and gentlemen I present to you, the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 2!

The Sound

Wonderboom 2 was designed to be used during activities; being outside, in the pool, hanging with friends, etc.

The speaker placement was designed in such a way that the WB2 delivers sound in a 360 degree circle, so no matter where you are in relation to it your music will sound good.

Just drop it in the middle of where you are hanging out, and get the party started y’all, nice.

Oh yeah, and if it is indeed a party that you are having, then kick the speaker in to Outdoor Boost with the button on the bottom, do add more dropz to the trap music you darn kids are into.

Bottoms up shows you the Outdoor Boost button. Topside has Power, Bluetooth and a multi-function Play / Pause / Skip .

The Look

Well, look for yourselves. They are really nice. Well put together, nice clean design, and a multitude of colors.

Cause they are IPX67 rated you can soap them up and hose them off if you wanted to make it pretty again after a hard weekend in the woods with it.

The Features

Wonderboom 2 keeps it easy. Just a couple of buttons here and there to press and you are on your way.

Their Pair Two tech allows you to partner up another WB 2 that’s at the scene with you for 2x the jams.

That’s a neat feature, but note that it doesn’t connect with BOOM, MEGABOOM, BLAST, or MEGABLAST.

The Power

These lil’ guys can give you 13 hours of power. Which basically means you probably only have to charge it a couple of times a month, unless you are some kinda freak that uses yours non-stop.

It takes 2.6 hours to charge from empty. It would be great if they had went with USB C for faster charge times this iteration, but micro USB is where the WB 2 is at these days.

At least you have the cable already.

Conclusions

I liked the original Wonderboom quite a bit. I think it worked well for most people.

The WB 2 is a nice improvement across the board, and puts it a little closer to being competitive with the JBL Flip series at the $99 price points.
